Randall Ruback is an international performing artist and nationally recognized teacher of brass instruments and other multi-disciplinary courses and workshops. Mr. Ruback has performed as principal trombone with the (RAI) Italian Radio and Television Orchestra of Rome; the Opera House "Giuseppe Verdi" in Trieste, Italy; and the Haifa Symphony Orchestra in Israel.  As a soloist on West German Radio, a prize-winning composer, a conductor, and having recorded for movie, radio, television and disk, other performances include the Hungarian Opera; Pennsylvania Ballet; Orchestra of Ancient Music, Rome; and the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds. In the field of jazz and popular music, he has performed with Slide Hampton World of Trombones, the Bill Porter, Marvin Hamlish, and Guy Lombardo Orchestras, artists from Motown, and national touring groups and entertainers. He has performed under the batons of Leonard Bernstein, Erich Leinsdorf, Michael  Tilson Thomas, Sergiu Commissiona, Krzysztof Penderecki, Herbert Blomstedt, Simeon Bychkov, Frederich Fennell, Morton Gould, Kent Montgomery, and Gerard Schwartz, to name a few. He has performed for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican, Shimon Peres, and other heads of state; has performed at the Tonhalle in Dusseldorf, Germany and at the Hollywood Bowl; and has toured Europe and the Middle East.
He appeared as guest soloist with the King David String Ensemble from Israel. In Milwaukee he has performed with the Ballet, Repertoire (assistant musical director, trombonist, and conductor) and Riverside Theaters; the Skylight and Florentine Operas; Music By The Lake in Lake Geneva; Summer and Italian Fests; Music Under the Stars; the Waukesha Symphony; the Wisconsin Wind Symphony; the Nick Contorno Big Band; and the Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Madison Brass Quintets.
In Washington, he has performed with the Tacoma Symphony as well as the Jim Cutler Jazz Orchestra; Jay Thomas Big Band; Bruce and Bethany Staelens Big Band; PH Factor; and Pacific Northwest Jazz Conspiracy.

He has taught and conducted at Northwestern University; the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois; Carroll College; the Mannes College of Music in New York City; Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin; the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music; the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; the University of Wisconsin-Parkside; the U.S. Army band; Mannes College (the New School of Music Preparatory Division); the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design; Alverno College; the Haifa Conservatory of Music; the Milwaukee Youth Symphony; the Milwaukee Public Schools; and the Merit Program in Chicago. He was clinician and adjudicator for the 2005 Marquette University Jazz Festival. He was the trombone clinician at the First (2007), Second (2008), Third (2009), and Fourth (2010) Annual Woody Herman Educational Jazz Workshops through the UWM Jazz Studies program, and served as trombone artist and clinician at the Bob Kames Foundation 2008 Jazz Festival.

A teacher of forty years, his brass students (trombone, trumpet, French horn, euphonium, and tuba) have achieved national recognition through his techniques of teaching: performing in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, three military service bands, winning five concerto competitions, including Northwestern University with full scholarships to UW-Madison, Lawrence, and Indiana Universities. Two of his private music theory & ear-training student vocalists gained entrance into the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus and Star Search. His brass students have soloed at the National Tuba Conference in Washington, D.C.; attended the National High School Honors Orchestra; Disney Young Musicians Orchestra; and Tanglewood Festivals. From 1996 - unto this day, he has an unbroken string of brass students who attend Indiana University, the top music school in the U.S. In addition, select students have been coached by Joe Alessi, Ron Barron, Pete Ellefson, Scott Hartman, Kevin Hartman, and Don Lucas.
